It's possible, but unlikely. I do plan on going this year, got a hotel with a buddy local. I was going to drive my GN down or ride shotgun with his '86 being trailered. We will see how far we get and figure it out. I wouldn't trust my little baby tacoma or my driving with a trailer and this car..

Louie you are wrong, a whole lot special here, this GS is a real F7 15 x 7 chrome G60 -15 Goodyear polyglas car, very rare option for a convertible.

It runs, drives, and stops (sort of)! Rebuilt carb, a new-used distributor, 2 plug wires, fresh oil, and a muffler. We plumbed a temporary fuel system and primed it. Ran pretty good. It has a slight miss and little tick. The distributor in it wasn’t correct. I have a 1112110 on the shelf, but it needs rebuilt so I threw in a 1112542.

Video to come. Looks a lot better on fresh wheels and tires. 245/60s in the rear, 235s in the front.

Nobody wanted gold back in the 80's.
White interior and top were the worst too.
I bet more than a couple of 71 zone cars were switched over to black top and/or interior

Now Gold over white is like a piece of jewelry

Agreed! The gold is really striking in person. I am indifferent on the top change. My dad likes it and there is no reason to switch it back right now. It’s in really nice shape.

Video of Sunday’s event. The car starts to fire off around the 11 minute mark.

Last update for a while. First wash in who knows how long. Some good and some bad revealed. Hoping to find time this weekend to buff it and clean the interior.

Common for the deck filler panel to crack but I would check that rust under the pinch weld.. Nice find..

Found time to start cleaning the interior. Pulled the back seat to find pristine floors. Carpet will need replaced. The steering wheel de-gooped. The dash pad is really nice. My initial concoctions on the seats didn’t remove all the staining. Anyone have a proven recipe? I also need to source the correct color SEM dye to save the arm rests. Started bringing back the bumper too.

Louie! Nice job! I don't know my 72's that well... Is that a white interior or pearl white, similar to the 70 pearl white?

Thanks George! I believe it’s just standard white.

IIRC, '71 was pearl white & '72 plain white.

Ok actual last update for now. I need to get my ‘38 back together before we blow this car apart. Hoping to start that in a month or two. Spent some time working on the paint and buffed the rear bumper. Happy with the results.

NOS fenders (ugh), NOS hood, NOS core support, and NOS grille installed. Still needs some alignment, but everything is pretty straight. The hood trim is from a 72 4 door skylark we parted out years ago. On deck: radiator shroud, nice used bumper, 1 NOS HL bezel, 1 good used in stock. We hope to cruise it a little next weekend.

I also installed new calipers, pads, hoses, and a master cylinder. Broke the driver side brake line to the prop valve. I bent up one that will be fine for now.

Thanks Frank. Yep.. they do. According to the posts of the past, these should be the “flat” problem fenders.
