This goes along with Duane posted earlier about the mounting pins being short, they would need to be longer to reach the mounting plate.
I looked in all my 72 assembly manuals and none of them show the GSX grill emblem. Someone would need to look at an original emblem to verify. Duane
There may be no part # because there is no such thing as a 1972 Buick GSX grille emblem. When I bought my 1972 Buick GSX is August of 1988 from the second owner, he said it had no grill emblem, a few polaroid pictures of the car in 1987 when it was still original paint, just before he had it repainted it, prior to me buying the car from him, showed that it had no grill emblem. It is possible that by 1972, Buick did not bother with grill emblem, as the whole Super Car game was on the way out?
I know this thread is a few years old but did a search regarding the grill colour and this came up. The 72 gsx I recently purchased from the original owner didn’t have a grill emblem and he swore it never had one. Maybe due to the deeper hood lip on the 72 the grill emblem just didn’t look right in the smaller grill opening? The weird thing about my car is that the grill is silver and has no black on it like my 72 gs grill?
