I stumbled on to this car: https://www.cardealfinder.com/autos/buick/1974-buick-gran-sport-121822.html Is it me or is this car insanely under priced given the condition of the car in the pictures? Like so low it seems fishy.
The white seats with the tan carpet and door-panels looks a little odd? But the rest of the car looks really good! Larry.
Starting in '74, there were several new decor options and color combinations in many different Buick models - extra cost. This might be a 'Luxus' trim level.
I agree that the price looked low. I searched on some other cars. I found a 1972 Trans Am, 100 miles since restoration, I suspect not the original motor for $19.700 (about $30,000 less what that car is worth). Also saw a 1972 Challenger 340 and a 4 speed for $13,000 (again, about $30,00 less than it should be). But the real deal is a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W 30 Convertible in Matador Red for an even $10,000. I will take a dozen please!!!! Something has to be amiss with this site!
Could be one of several reasons. I remember a guy back in the day selling a nice 65 GTO from Oregon. He was standing in the parking lot of a gas station holding up a sign at a busy intersection with a sign saying " Must sell today. Asking $5000 cash. " Found out from my brother later that he took $2000 because he had to pay his "dealer " that day or else.
It's a scam. That site has cars listed at low prices all the time. That car has been all over the place. It used to belong to member on the forum. It's been sold at various Mecum auctions since 2015. It had a high bid of 25,000 in Houston in 2015, a high bid of 16,000 at Houston in 2016, sold at Houston for 22,000 in 2017, sold in Dallas for 25,000 in 2017, sold in Las Vegas for 11,000 in 2017, and at Kissimmee in 2018 for 19,250. I looked at it at Kissimmee in 2018, it looked like a nice car, it had a few problems but overall pretty nice. It grabbed my attention because I had one like it I bought new in 1974. Mine was black with white bucket seat interior with the 455. Last I knew it was at a southern Florida dealer listed at around 29,000. If you get on the Mecum web site and look at past auctions results you will see some of the same pictures used even after it supposedly was sold. I always wondered what was going with that car being listed and sold over and over.
