Oh geez....I am so tempted to go and pick that up, it's only 4 hours away. "I do not need this...I do not need this...I DO NOT NEED THIS!!!" ARGHHH!!!
It's not free, a buddy of mine got in touch with the owner and he still wants $6 K Canadian for it. We were going to go get it if it was free, and my buddy was prepared to offer $2500 if it wasn't. At close to $2 a litre for gas, it's a $200 plus tank to fill, and you'd need at least a tank and a half to get it here. It's still cheaper and takes just as long to fly, so it sits. There is absolutely no interest in this province for a car like that. It took me 2 years to get rid of a convertible of the same type but a more desirable year and with a smaller motor, and I ended up losing my collective shorts in order to get rid of it. The owner is going to learn the same hard lessons I did; if it isn't a Chevy Bel Air with a clapped out 6, or a bent Nova, it's not wanted and isn't worth a tinker's cuss, no matter how nice it actually is. Nobody pays money for Electras.
The "for free" listing is no longer online. But the CAD 6,000 listing still is.... Good thing that I posted that screenshot. Why would that Charlie guy list the car for free if he still wants to get 6K for it?
No, I think there's more to it in that involves some type of substance abuse while typing online. That's what I might have heard. The Buick is still at $6K, and the Caddy he is also offering that started at $6K is now at $15K.
Yeah, he created a new listing for the "free" Electra, but left the older 6K one online. And he was smart enough to know how to remove the "free" listing after a few days. Same thing with the Cadillac. By the way: that 1984 Cadillac is listed with a 400 engine, shouldn't that be the 4.1 engine?
