Thanks for the link! Not sure if I'm going yet, but the info may help convince my wife that we need a road trip in the summer.

I am going to try to get to this event, much will depend of the job situation, and any vacation time. It's only a bit more than 500 miles from me.

I have my room reserved, and I plan on taking my 40 Super convertible. This meet is far enough north that I can take a Buick without AC, and the wife will still go.

I'll be there, about 99.9% sure. Only about 4-5 hrs from Fargo. Joe, MN can be mighty hot and humid in mid-July... or it could be 65deg too. :Do No:

i thought that might be the case, but if we start off in the 40 and the weather gets HOT, the wife will just have to suffer through it. We are also planning on going on the tour sponsored by the BDE after the meet. It will go down the Mississippi ,and end up in Charleston IL. We are taking the ferry over, so we don't need to worry about the drive around Chicago. :beer

I was just reading about that tour last week, sounds like fun! Good choice on the ferry ride, I think. I DID NOT enjoy driving around Chicago both ways to and from Salem last year...

Why does everyone assume it is always cold here?

    You may regret that.
During that time of summer it is often in the 90's with dewpoints in the 70's.

    Dale,
If I get started in the 40 and the weather goes in the dumper, I will just explain that it is too late to get another car ready. I really want to take the 40, as I haven't had it to a national BCA meet in quite some time.
I know that in 2007 ,with the meet being in Seattle, we will be taking something with AC .

Dave, glad to see you (interested in) going!:TU: It'll be good to see you again...

Hank will have the 60 Electra vert I've been working on this fall with him. I'm interested to see how it scores!

Adam, have you reserved a room already? I haven't gotten around to it yet, should do that soon. Not much will keep me from attending, but you never know. I'm really looking forward to seeing some guys from Salem '04 that I missed in '05. Unfortunately I'll have to enter as a display car only, can't even meet the meager requirements for the Driven division...

What makes you say you won't make those requirements? You can still choose to be judged in the 400 point system....doesn't matter how incorrect it is.

I have reserved a room. I did it immediately after the national this year in July.

We'd love to see everyone come to Rochester next year. :)

If there is anything I can do to help for information or answer questions let me know! We're very excited to co-host this event with the Fireball chapter and the city of Rochester has been wonderful to work with and are looking forward to having the Buick meet.

Thanks Adam for posting the National link and for anyone else looking for information on the city of Rochester http://www.rochestercvb.org/ Get those hotel reservations in and don't forget to mention Buick Club National Meet to get the special rate. :Smarty:

Well, I'm just not real interested in having my car judged in the 400pt class. I have no plans on making it "correct" at any time in the future, in fact it will become less correct instead. I just don't see any point in it for me, with my car. I wish the Driven class was less stringent, but I suppose they need to have minimal rules too. Display will be fine for me, no big deal.

Because of the many "incorrect" items on my car, I asked Patrick Brooks directly about whether or not my car qualified for the Driven class. He actually got the class started. There are many items that are not acceptable, though you would think the Driven class would be more lenient. If found out of compliance, your car is physically removed from the Driven show field. The specific items that Patrick said would disqualify me: My Grant steering wheel, aftermarket air cleaner, and the stainless steel body-side trim that was transplanted from a 69 Custom during resto.

If I really wanted to, I could find a 68 steering wheel and stock air cleaner. But I like my car the way it is, and I'm not interested in spending the hundreds of dollars necessary to change those 2 items. Obviously the big problem would be the SS trim pieces. I wouldn't mind if they were gone, but that would mean body and paint work, which I can't afford. SO, I'll just be satisfied with the Display class instead. What I find funny is that my wrong year 350 is ok, and my 15" chrome wheels are ok (period correct...) But he said my TH350 could also be a problem, if it was too new. I suppose a 69/70 or so would be ok, but nothing from later years. I don't know what year it is.

Anywaaaaaays, I'm planning on being there, probably not at the host hotel, I read that's been full for a while now. Might bring the family along in the van, while I drive the car. :3gears:

David, once you hit Lakeville, Rochester isn't very far at all. If I go I'll just drive back and forth from home. I have to see if I have a car by then.
Time will tell. I need daily driver for now.

David, there will be a "driven" class in the Modified division i believe. the mods you have will not be a problem there.

I don't think I've seen that in the registration forms with each Bugle issue. I'll have to check into that. Thanks for the info, Joe. If the Driven class is added to the modified div, I'll probably enter there. :TU:
