    Hi Guys

Looking to purchase a rebuild kit for 200R4. Any suggestions on good companies? Transtar? etc. Looking for high quality parts.

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

I ended up going with Transmission Center. Net Nice kit with lots of high end parts. On sale right now so that was a bonus.

Good parts and service after the sale.

Those people you used are real nice too. I've bought from them and toured their facility in Bossier City.

Please post how the car feels once its installed. The only downside to that transmission is solved with what you are replacing. My only hesitation driving to Hershey this fall is the rpm noise for 5 hrs. with a turbo 350, that 200 should do the trick and give me a lower first gear. Look forward to hearing from you. Good luck.

Will do. Alan that is the reason I went to the 2004R. I couldn't take the high rev and exhaust drone. Now I'm at 2,200 rpm at 70 mph. I ended up ordering the K11 kit. Has the billet servo. Alto Red Eagle clutches etc.

Sorry Rod I'm not sure what you mean by what TC brand? Using I'm pretty sure around a 2.300 stall. been a while since I got the converter.

What brand of torque converter did you get?

I'm not sure I even remember. Been a few years since I got it. Got it through my buddy's resto shop but they have access to quite a few different brands. Could have been TCI.

JW can get custom 2004R converters too. I used a nice Hughes converter with a triple disk lockup. Was about $850 but well worth it. The low cost units won’t hold power when locked up as the clutches are too weak.
