Steve Cagle, Mike Barbarino, and Jerry Sewiec (sp) in the finals.

With Mike taking the win,Way to go Mike.Good job.

The finals had all foot brake cars, maybe the trans brakes aren't so much of an advantage:Do No:

Anyway, next time I think a .500 tree would level the field even more. The deep stage definitely helped.

Kudos to Jim Rodgers for putting this class together and getting the purse for the event. Look forward to doing it again.

Awesome, I see the GSR class only growing no doubt . Super pissed I couldn't join the field this year , but thanks and congrats to all the competitors. Looking forward

    Thx Gary,
We definitely wouldn't of had a chance without the deep staging. The cool thing was Jerry and I still deep staged each other in the finals. Jerry with a .134 and I with a .138 R/T's. Jerry cross the beams first, but broke out with a 9.865 on a 9.87 dial in against my 10.719 run on a 10.71 dial in. Margin of victory was .0014. That's how finals should finish......close!

Great class with a good turnout. Had fun even though i had a tire issue. All competitors were great guys. I think this class is great and should be run with no transbrakes also. I do like the 400 tree though. Keeps you guessing.

Thanks to Jim for heading this up, but also a big thanks goes out to Perry Carlini for getting this started a couple of years ago. This class is growing every year, and I think we will have close to 25-30 cars for next years event. Thanks guys :TU::3gears:

Great thanks to Jim Rodgers and everyone else that helped run this class. I liked the pairing up of the cars this year instead of running them the way they fell in staging. I will personally help Jim in anyway to fine tune and keep this class around and only grow with time and be one of the premier classes to run in and watch.

    Dan,
I'm not a fan of deep staging either or electronics in drag racing. I like a good old heads up or bracket race relying on driver and car. But,the deep staging definitely helped equalized the racing field with brake and no brake cars. The only problem with you deep staging with a trans brake is you will most likely red light on a .400 pro tree. It was a pleasure meeting you and racing against you.........even though you didn't like how my car mph's . Take care

Looked through my photos and here are the other GSR related photos I could find. Next year I'll try to get more shots of the racing (unless I'm able to get my car together and run too). I hosted all of my photos in a public folder so if you want to see any of them in full resolution, just click on the photo, it will open Photobucket, then put your mouse over the photo and look for the magnifying glass to appear and then you can enlarge it to full size.
