    Have this camshaft 284-88h for a 1971 engine was wonder can this camshaft be lined up dot to dot or degreed. Street driven car with fuel injection. Engine is in the car have no intention of pulling. I was wondering would I be ok I heard it’s ok to do it I have been doing this to others and no issues stock engine

    You probably can install dot to dot and things will be fine but then the question becomes: what did I leave on the table by not degreeing? The cam can be degreed in the car. Read up on the process, its not hard or a huge investment and most likely worth your while.

    For a low compression 455, you will probably want to install it 4* advanced to keep the cylinder pressure up at low speed, it’ll like 9:1 or more static. But there’s no danger of valve to piston clearance issues going dot to dot.
