Tomorrow the gs gets 3.73's , its basically a stock rebuild, has headers and exhaust.. with 3.73's, what converter should we think about getting? i was thinking about a 2500 maybe? We'd still like it to be somewhat streetable despite the gears.

If you have a stock motor, you wont need a higher stall converter...especially with 3.73 gears. :TU:

The purpose of a higher stall converter is to compensate for the characteristics of performance camshafts...less botom-end power and a lumpy idle.

Your exhaust modifications will likely give you more top-end and a little less bottom-end, but not to the extent that you need a higher-stall converter. Especially since you're going with 3.73 gears. With those gears, you will be in your "power range" immediately.

You don't need a higer-stall converter unless you have a high performance camshaft. Get a high-quality, low-stall converter.

    Just my thoughts. :TU:
