I have reached a point where I don't need much "burnout". Even on State Highway 51 infront of my house, if Ive been driving around for a while, I can slow to an idle and dead hook on my MT 275/60r15 street radial pro DOT's and yes, dead hook. (Tires are about 100 degrees and road is not dirty and 18-20 lb of air.).
Drag strip is 1.60-63 60 ft with stomp in edge of water, let it get to 3rd gear for a second and back off smoothly with the pull down of the tires.
Traction was solved with a fat rear Hellwig tubular anti sway bar, TA nohops and Viking double adjustable shocks set at 3 clicks from loose going down (compression) and 7 up (rebound).
So, drive your car on a clean road until the oil, water and tires get warm and ready for some fun. NO full throttle till everything is fully heated. Your tires should be clean and ready. Then give it hell.
Note: Drop down brackets for the rear trailing arms may do as well as TA no-hop bars. Try 2" then 3 "

I like Thompson, kinda dumpy, but you get more passes in for sure.

If you go to.norwalk you will 3 passes maybe 4.

D42 I've only been there twice since reopened, but I got about the same number of practice hits

I've been to Thompson 4 or 5 times and you could get passes almost as fast as you wanted

Man your in luck with 3 local tracks.
Get out there and make some laps.
Take notes of your tune, launch n shift points, tire pressures etc and any info. You sound like you have a nice car. Make it work.

You may be able to tighten up that rear suspension on compression and pick up on 60. It’s all a good experiment.

I have thought about tightening the compression, just never tried it yet.
I expect it to be a little harsh on the ride, but that can be fixed with the turn of a knob.
A fellow 67 GS owner at Bowling Green told me years ago, that his car liked a "tight" suspension. So you're probably correct.
    I like these Vikings.

Vikings work great. Have them on rear of my Chevelle.
