These are very unusual headers that I had on my Stage 1 for 20+ years. They are headers made by "Headers by Ed". Check out his website: http://www.headersbyed.com/ . I have had and old set of Kenne Bell headers and MT SuperScavengers, and these fit the best and gave the highest ground clearance. I did a comparison versus the MT's and the performance was nearly identical in the 1/4 mile ( the Ed's headers gave an average of 0.05 and 0.4mph better times and mph, but were 1 week apart and allowing for the weather conditions, probably were the same). I think only a handful of sets were built for the Buick 455. His work is labor intensive, but high quality, which made this set of headers expensive for the time. He stated these were true equal length headers - that is why they look like they do. The primaries are 1 and 7/8 inch. I have now went back to the factory look with my Stage 1 and do not have a use for these. Price is $300 plus shipping. They are in very good shape. I think they only saw rain once in the 20+ years they were on the car. I am in the Harrison City area of Pennsylvania, about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh. Thanks for reading this whole long ad! :Comp:

I remember when the GSCA had these made. Seemed like it was late 80's or early 90's. I know they were expensive at the time and had workmanship second to none. These were originally mocked up on my convertible. It took over 3 months, not the two weeks that Ed estimated. I think he gave me a $200.discount so they only cost me $500......great value at $300. They sound awsome and you should notice some midrange and low end torgue improvement, not much Et diff. Looks REAL serious under the hood...Enjoy

Congratulations on the score...a very rare, cool piece of Buick and racing history. Ed's "is a real opinionated personality" who back in the day made a quality piece, fully TIG welded, real artwork. Many a Stocker and Super Stocker used his products. The story I got on these from Richard L was 6 or 7 sets made, (he couldn't remember which). Some of the other early GSCA members Ive asked seemed to remember it pretty much the same. Apparently Ed even made a couple of sets (by customer request) in 2", but most were 1 7/8". I still have a few of the GSXTRA articles written to hype them. But as others have said they were too pricey with too little bang for the buck, so ultimately like most rare stuff it didnt sale. Richard told me he still has his crusty, used up set hanging on the wall. Another buyer, Mike Nussell destroyed his backing off of the trailer. I have a set of the 1-7/8", so thats at least 4 set accounted for. What do you plan to do with your set Gary? Gonna use mine on my 70 GS retro build, after they get ceramic coated.
I can vouch for one more set that I have they may be 2'' as they look bigger than the pictured ones , they have never been used hanging on shop wall with two diffrent size collectors and bolt package I think I need to move some stuff :Brow:
