64 was the last of the Ionia body Buick wagons. They were built on the Wildcat platform- that meant any Wildcat powertrain option was available. 94 of these wagons were built with the Super Wildcat engine. 14 were built with 4-speeds according to the Daily Production Reports. 2 of those were Super Wildcat 4-speed jobs. This is one of the 92 Super Wildcat Automatics. It has power everything-windows, seat, antenna, back window. Also 4- note horns, cruise control, AM/FM w/rear speaker, rear window wiper (!!!) 3.08:1 Posi, turning lights, roof rack (off for now) and cloth/vinyl seating. Its a 4635 - 6 passenger purchased new in St. Mary's Ohio for use at a Floral shop.
I remember a good friend was a young mechanic at Miller Motors Buick in Baltimore Md in the 1960's . He said older customers would buy these big Buicks with the 2 x4's and drive them as older people do. They would come in and complain about the cars running rough and not idling . The service writer would give the car to a mechanic and say "FIX IT " . That was an indication to do a couple full throttle starts and run up to around 80 MPH . The customers always said the car is running great when the writer would do a follow up call !!! He later became Gereral Manager of that dealership !!! R.I.P. Bill "GREASE " .
