65-66 rear ends

    Will the complete rear from a 66 GS bolt into a 65 Skylark ?

    Another yes. The 66 rear may be a little wider, about 1". 66 GS has thicker axles and bigger wheel bearings, but that won't affect how it fits the 65.

    Hi,

    Also the bearings for a 65 are different from a 66 and both are hard to locate, if your doing it look into upgrading the axle shafts as factory ones are very soft.

    The difference in width is 5/8” on each side.
    I have the obsolete RW507GR bearings,if needed.
