I decided to add my car to this section. It is a 1965 Buick Skylark 2-door post car. Came with a V6, auto, no power brakes or power stearing. Previous owner did add front disc brakes. Here is where its at now.

    1. L92 motor with a lot of upgrades. Previous dyno was 471 RWHP in 3rd gear instead of 4th. Hope to beat that number next month with the final tune.
    2. 6L80 transmission.
    3. 71 Buick 8.5" rear with 30 spline Eaton posi. Gears are 3.27.
    4. Upgraded traction bars and 1" rear sway bar.
    5. 11" rear disc brakes. ETB red stuff brake pads.
    6. Upper and lower tubular A-arms
    7. 11" front disc brakes with ETB red stuff brake pads.
    8. Power brake booster.
    9. 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee power stearing box.
    10. 1 5/16" front sway bar.
    11. Front tires are 245/45ZR17 on 8" x 17" rims. Nitto 555 tires.
    12. Rear tires are 285/40ZR17 on 9.5" x 17" rims. Nitto 555 tires.
    13. Heavy duty cross flow radiator with electric dual fans.
    14. Added A/C for comfort.
    15. 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" merge collector headers.
    16. 3" dual exhaust with 20" Dynomax mufflers. I add Vibrant 3" resonators to make it quieter. That did the trick.

    Recent picture of the car.

Did you have to change anything to make those tires fit?

In the rear there is a mini tub but not into the frame. We also pushed out the fender well but that is hard to detect. Also rolled the lip. After we installed the 285 tires it looks like I have enough room to go with a 295 tire. I might do that when these wear out.

On the front I initially had a 255 tire on there but it rubbed some so I dropped down to a 245. That was with a 5" backspace. I should have gone with a 5.25" backspace and the 255 tire would have fit. Remember this is with disc brakes and they push the wheel out some versus the stock drum brakes.

Thanks guys for the kind comments.

Man she is one bad looking Skylark!!!

More pics please. Show the rear end and rear wheels underneath. I stuffed big wheels under mine too.

Did you run it on the track yet? 60 foot and ET??

Not yet. I hope to do some shake down runs this Summer and go for it this Fall/Winter. I am looking for 10.99 in the quarter and hopefully 25mpg at 70mph. Here are some pictures of the rear end installation.

Great looking car & nice work!
Where did you put the resonators? Don't see them in your pictures.
What did you use for the booster, master cylinder & prop valve?

Look carefully at the picture in the first post. The resonators are behind the rear tire and the rear bumper. Those pictures in the above post are from early on in the installation. Some things have changed since then.

Booster is a dual 8". Master cylinder is from a 70 Vette with disc/disc. Prop valve is a GM disc/disc.

10.99 huh, did you put a cage in it? Can't see one.

    Looks nice.
