I found this sitting in a snowbank in WI. Talked to owner- didn't want to sell at this time .Super straight- CA car - Been sitting out for 2 years, said he didn't get time to store! Red, black int ,ralleys, org.air cleaner . Looked like you could drive it away. Whats the market like on these? I like to at least give it a good home if I could offer him some cash. Thanks!

If it's a decent, running, rustfree car with decent paint and interior, 15K is ballpark. If it's super nice original or recently restored and well maintained with documentatioin, you are looking at around 25-30K, perhaps more, considering the insanity at B-J this year. Dan

Assuming it is as stated but needs a repaint, interior replaced, and extensive rechrome etc to bring it up to a #3 or #2 condition I would be looking to buy it in the $4-8K range. Look it over carefully, especially body mounts, floor pan braces, rear inner fender wells, front fenders--low, behind wheel opening, rear wheel housings, rear window (leakage?), trunk floor, and especially LX coded engine that matches the car's VIN#.

Mike, I know for a fact, that car isn't worth anything. Why don't you give me his name, address and phone number and I'll have a talk with him!!! It's actual value may be worth next to nothing, BUT being the nice guy that I am, I would give him a few hundred for the car. HA HA!

GOOD LUCK MIKE!! (You know that's actually one of my all time favorites!!)

I just bought one off ebay and I was pretty surprised to only give $6000. I thought for sure this car would be in the $8-9000 range. It doesn't have the LX block but it has a very rare MZ (66 GS) block and all the correctly dated 65 2x4 stuff. This car has a super straight body and only a little rust. All the mechanics are fantastic. If the body is straight and pretty rustfree and it has the orig motor and other components I think it would be in the $6-9000 depending on the running cond. int and trim. I do think these cars are still very under valued and will be good investments because the other muscle cars are going thru the roof. The average guy will be looking for something with good looks and horsepower (not to mention torque) which can be restored at a reasonable cost. These cars are very fun (see my picks under members rides) have good looks and are usually loaded, what more could a guy ask for. Just my 3 cents worth. Steve

Sorry Steve R., I was told by YOU that you don't have any room for more cars. Has that changed? Let me know ! For the other replies, It didn't need restoring- mint interior, chrome, bumpers, etc. Paint was hard to tell because it was dark. When I talked to him, he said he had a number of 63-65 Rivs.over the years. Didn't like hideaway headlights-too many problems. 64 was better with the fixed headlights. I didn't mention anything about his being a GS dual quad, and neither did he. I think he knows, said it wasn't for sale. BUT, money talks-what would be a good price? Thanks for all the help. PS- SRE- They are my favorite too!

OK Mike, you win! Just remember that when you get sick of this one, PLEASE give me a call first! As far as not having any more room, that car would be just like JELLO, there's always room for more!
