Has anyone seen this grille emblem before? This is the rusted bracket of some emblem that was originally on this car. The car has a wildcat 335 engine. Does this have anything to do with the emblem or is it a script skylark emblem on the drivers side?
If it were a Gran Sport there would have been an Emblem there. If not, There wouldn't have been anything there. Your engine is either a 310, Two Barrel Or a 355, 4 Barrel. PONCH
I think that would be the backing plate/rear bracket that helps secure the Gran Sport emblem to the grille. I see you posted this in Junkyard jewels, so if that means you saw this on a parts car in a yard it would be well worth getting it, someone will want it, and the nuts/bolts that may still be there. Thanks for the input, yeah the car was in a farmers own junkyard. I was doing research on the car after posting and found that the 300 4bbl lists 335 lb/ft torque but its called a 355? This car was given to me by the second owner two years ago and its a 300 4bbl with a ST300 trans. the car was sitting in a field for quite a few years before I got it and put it in my garage. It has the wildcat hub caps as well. Someone may have put the gran sport emblem on there years ago or the old couple that bought it new wanted the emblem and had he dealership put it on. I know this happened a lot back then. The bracket and bolts are in good shape for the emblem. The car is completely original except that additional emblem and a paint job somewhere in its long life. I will start the frame off resto in February when its to cold to due body work on my other project. It will make a great street sleeper with that switch pitch converter. Thanks, Scott
Yes, it has 335 lbs of torque. The 310 had 310. I don't know why the Factory branded it this way. Maybe to justify the added expence of a 4 Brl Intake and higher comp pistons. They must have wanted a higher spread from the 310. Who Knows? PONCH
