65 Sportwagon- high points resistance

    Ever check your vacuum advance? It should be hooked to manifold vacuum on a 65. Make sure that the vacuum advance actually advances the timing. While you are at it, check your mechanical advance and total timing as well. I say this because you state that there is a misfire at idle that is causing a hesitation. Make sure the accelerator pump is working as well. 2 strong streams of gas when you open the throttle.

    As I pushed throttle back I didn't see the 2 strong streams of gas.What I saw was almost a spray right about where the top of venturi is. Might have started as a stream but fanned out at top of venturi. United Carb rebuilders in Chicago I believe. Mechanic called it tip in hesitation. Always had lag
