65 wildcat 2-door

Discussion in 'Buick FAQ' started by Ohio Wildcat65, Jan 6, 2008.

  1. I have just started the restoration of a 1965 Wildcat 2 door.
I need to know what other models will interchange with my Buick.
I am in need of a front core support but with the 1965 Wildcat being mounted on the Electra frame for 65 will the core support from the 65 Electra work? Will parts from the 65 LeSabre fit the 65 Wildcat?
I just don't know what will fit and what won't and I have not been able to find anybody who knows!
    Can anybody help??

I believe that the Wildcat moved from the old Invicta chassis to the Lesabre chassis in '65. Not sure if there is a difference between Wildcat, Lesabre, and 225 frame. I know a lot of the dash components are the same. I have yet to go body part hunting for mine yet. You might want to move this thread to "A Boatload of Fun"

I'm parting out a '65 Wildcat 2dr. I'm pretty sure the core support is solid. What else are you looking for?

Electra radiator support is the same.

  5. The car is being taken off the frame so I'll know more as I get in to it but the core support is a must along with the batterytray, non pitted hood spear, front hood trim, parking light lens, plastic fender mounted washer fluid container and the list is growing.
I'm very intrested in the full core support.

I have a 1965 buick electra 225, and a 65 wildcat was in our shop. It looked to be the same from the doors forward with minor trim changes. I didn't give a hard look under the hood, but the sheet metal looked identical. The main differences came at the quarter panels.
