A few weeks ago, I posted a question about how to figure out if the stock setup was working or not on my '67 GS 400 kickdown and sp switches. It looks like the hacker took about 1/2 a year's worth of posts out of this section specifically. I think it was "Larry" that posted a response that was right on the head. In fact - the further I searched in the archives (that are now missing), I think it was Larry that answered up and provided a heck of a lot of info! Thanks!

I rigged up a toggle inline with the sp switch and ....wow! Limited traction is an understatement. In the process, I hooked up the kickdown solenoid by accident and actually found out what it was like to actually kickdown a gear in my rig. Sooo.....

I did a few continuity checks with existing wiring and switches and it seems that my switch assemblly has a breach between the input and the output on the switch assembly. In short, are these assembly's able to be rebuilt?

It looks like the metal casing is crimped around the plasitic housing and could be gone through. Anyone been inside and know what to look for? Pic attached.... :Do No:

    Thanks!

Here are the pics I promised. The shaft I used in the pic had been broken off so obviously it'll look shorter then it should be in the picture. The circuit is pretty basic. Let me know if you have any questions.

    X-ray vision!

    Todd,

Outstanding! That wasn't how I had imagined but it's extremely simple looking at it now. It's probably a worn/missing part.

    Thanks! - much appreciated! :TU:
