http://www.ebay.com/itm/360833397776?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 I'm not sure how one would go about actually making this thing work?
well .. if the mounts are on the bottom, a couple of self tapping 1/4-20 sheet metal screws into the bumper should work uzzled:o No:ou:
It's a messed up concept, for sure. You'd have to gut out the oem horizontal slats and maybe this thing would fit inside of the outer shell?????
I'll see if I can dig up a photo of the grill I made many years ago. It had horizontal slats that had the same taper (150) as the stock grill, but didn't have the curving part near the center like this one. That was in 2003, before I wrecked my car and the grill got trashed. It didn't have the outer shell portion at all. I had some strap iron also holding it all in place.
I don't understand why a business wouldn't just make it correctly, if they're going to bother at all.
I saw this as well and wondered what it might look like installed. Judging where the three top tabs are, I would assume it was just bolting to the original chrome surround?? But, looking at the sides, how you would actually attach it to the car is a mystery. Amazing how the Buick grill is almost twice as expensive as most of the rest of the grills they make. Then there is the chrome tube grill on sale for $500: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-1970-B...ipped-Chrome-Tube-Grill-ON-SALE-/261359224607
Before the aluminum one, I had a tube grille like that shown in the above link. I didn't really care for it, was why I went to the aluminum one. I had been pricing grilles and gotten prices like $500 back in '02. No way I was paying that. I still have the tube grille in the rafters in the garage. After I wrecked my car, I found a grille, hood, core support, bumper core and a right front fender for $800. I didn't find this place for many years after that.
