Hello everyone! I'm new to this site and hope to have something to offer. I have a 69 Skylark bought new by my Father and given to me at 16. I have had it frame off restored with complete body work. The body is better than factory. Now I have to put the rest of it together. My first hurdle is the rear end. Right before I was going to put a completely rebuilt rear (with posi from JD Race) back under the car, one of the "ears" top control arm mounts cracked. Now this is a true Buick rear with the huge pinion in it. So, I'm looking for a donor rear that will accept the brand new parts- and they were not cheap. My hope is to do a few car shows and maybe autocross some. I'm sure I'll test a few runs at the drag strip but I'm sure I'll never beat on this car much. It means too much to me. Well, that's the intro. I'll check in mostly on the weekends. If anyone could suggest threads for me, I would appreciate it.

Well, for the 52 folks out there that read this, my story continues. I am now the proud owner of another 69 custom. It's a bucket of rust but may get the rear end back where it belongs. This donor car was originally green so many of the interior parts will not help me much. I'll sell off the car or parts as my project continues and will offer it in the proper area of this site. For now, back to work. By the way, my car will have a 350-4bbl (still original 69 heads), TH350 tranny, C5 front end and dropped only 1 inch. Yes, built up a little but just enough to have some fun. The car is still a shell waiting for all the parts to get back in place. I'll be glad to add pics if anyone has the interest.

Thanks Dave, that might be an option if this donor car does not work out. I plan to pull the rear next weekend and tear it down. If it has flaws, I'll be looking again. What did you put in your 70? btw, I am in North GA.

Here is the donor car. I just got it but certainly will not need all of it.

I found a 69 GS rear. 2.93 posi at a reasonable price so I threw it in. It is a big improvement from that 2.56 peg leg but I really think the car needs the 3.42's

Beautiful donor car. Any chance I could purchase the vinyl top chrome from it? I only need the driver's side from drip rail at quarter glass to the first angle over quarter, but I understand if you want to sell it as a package. Worth a try.

Hey Troys69GS, I looked closer at the chrome trim. It appears someone replaced the original with chrome painted plastic. I'm sure you don't want that. Sorry. I'll gather the good pieces one day and list them in the proper section of this site. Thanks for your interest!

Morning BubbaJ! Very nice looking donor car. It looks like it has lots of nice parts. Green interior, yuck! My car came with green interior and I used vinyl paint to make it all black. Came out great. What color is your keeper car's interior? I have a 69 Skylark Custom also. Welcome to the forum from So. Florida! JC1

Hey there Waterboy, My car will stay the original candy/metal flake brown outside and camel tan inside. I hope all I need from the donor is the rear end. Believe it or not, the thing runs! Got a bowtie 305 somebody stuck in it, LOL. When I get my car back on the road, I'll be making a trip to So. FL. Got family down there, way down, FL City. The last time the car was down there was 1987. Good ride. -btw, just got my tranny back, Stage 1 + Allison converter. 350 build next if I can find someone local that knows these old SBBs. Thanks for the welcome!
