The owner is a very nice guy. I checked the car out when it was listed as a stage 1.

Agree Joe.. Looks decent. As long as the trunk trim is there (couldn't tell in the pics), and there is no rust/serious bondo...

Restorable. The bones are good. Motor and trans are not #s. If I would have bought it that day and dropped it off with a blank check to have it stripped, metal work, and paint. Replating. Some mechanical things. But that’s me.

Trunk trim is there. It’s a Wisconsin car.

Why would you do that...blank check would get filled with $40000 and at the end of the day we would have a $62000 nom car...worth about 30k on a good day...bad deal...looks like it can be just driven and enjoyed as is...no?

I think that is why he didn't buy it, The numbers didn't make sense for what the car needed to be nice enough to make him happy. I understand that completely.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying GSXER. The car isn’t worth putting the coin into…. As you just said 40k for paint for what? To have a car that’s worth ?? thousand. I’d be pretty upside down wouldn’t ya say? I was politely not bashing the car. It wouldn’t take someone very long with a little car knowledge to see there is no real estate /gain/money to be made , even though I was looking to buy to keep. Again what you may feel that you can hop in and take around town might be a bucket to me or vice versa. Point being I went and looked at the car. The owner told me I was the only person that had looked at it. Pulled the add. I looked it over throughly when it was posted for 37k. It’s now 22k.

I didn’t even get behind the wheel of the car. First we had some figuring out of what made it a stage 1 car. After not finding anything to me to prove that it even possibly could have been a stage car we now are at a Nom Gs400. Which was not a deal breaker for me. Until I started really looking around digging and adding up. The car started, I saw it move from inside a garage to outside. No top was was dropped. Brakes I was told are IFFY. I would suggest pictures exactly of what your concerns are of going into buying it. Interior was actually really nice. It is a flint 69 Gs400 that was from the factory polar white with red interior. Top I could not decode. Engine had part vin from a different car but was RR stamped from what I could see. Had a BA trans again with I believe the same vin that I could partial make out on the block that definitely did not match the car.

Thank you Chris. At this point I do not want to be rebuilding an entire car. I’ll take on some light work but no big project for me. When you see 37k you expect a 37k car. That it is not. MCR just got done doing a 200 BIG ONES resto on my uncles 69 Camaro Z28 302 4speed car.
