Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out where the body color and matte black finish on the cowl area intersect. That is where does the body color end, and the matte black begin.

This is where I break all the ones i do, simply because I cant stand seeing body color poking out from under the fender jamb, but from factory that wasn't uncommon

Make sure you make the actual upper dash a flat black or you'll get a reflection in the windshield

Thank you Hugger. Does the black continue on the sides of the cowl, or just on the top surface? Thank you.

It continues on to the side.

Hi 69 GS455, do you have any images on how GM intended it to be done? thank you.

I got several original cars I can take pics of, but its essentially like the first pic, the sides of the cowl are body color

Hi Hugger, so the first picture is how GM did it? I want to make sure the customer doesn't complain, and I do it correctly. thank you.

Yes, I'll post a pic of a 53k mile untouched car just for good measure tomorrow

With urethane products it's kinda hard to do it EXACTLY like factory because you cant isolate the product well enough like you can with lacquer but we do what we can I reckon

Thank you Hugger, I appreciate your help, and look forward to seeing the original vehicle.

Hugger knows better than I. I can only go by my car and it was redone before I purchased it.

I for got I set a pair of fenders back on it last summer, and its covered in other stuff also, but I assure you it's as pictured. Like I mentioned you will see the occasional car with a touch of body color showing from under the fender edge, but it will very minimal, the black was sprayed after the body color, and I guess maybe they wouldn't get it far enough over, but it was intended for no body color to be seen. Float it in there along the seam and your good

Hi Hugger, I can't tell from the picture, but where does the matte black intersect with the base of the A-pillar area? thank you.
