Many Thanks. Do you have the specs on the Mark II and Mark III handy?

Ok guys, i know the old history on this deal. Jerry bought the car when he worked for us in 1970. My father and my uncle never sponsered a race car, ever. as we all know buick never had a stage 4 motor, does that mean KB might have not had a motor they called a stage 4, no. Jerry was at our dearership probably 5 or 6 years ago. he and i talked about the old days, and about then he started spouting off about the stage 4 buick engine. at that point i tuned him out knowing that was a bogus claim. if bj sells this car as a buick prototype they would have a huge problem, it just is not so. is this the origional owner, most likely because i know he bought it from us. if i needed to i could probably come up with the dealer sales invoice. if they are looking for somebody to verify this vehicle they can call me at 9192709647 and dispell any rumors.

Has anyone contacted BJ about this car? There are so many things wrong with their ad for it they should at least correct the ad, even if it is a real 'X'. My 94 LeSabre work car has as much chance of running 9's as that does.:3gears:

The car itself should bring decent money, it's just completely misrepresented.

I'm hoping this can be straightened out before the auction. We don't need this guy tarnishing our reputation with wild claims about things that didn't happen. Next thing you know, you'll be hearing someone say, "Oh, you know those Buick guys are nuts."

If someone can get and run the VIN at least that would establish conclusively what the car was delivered to the dealer as. Hope Kenne Bell will chime in too.

I know Steve Davis from BJ has read this thread, If anyone want's to see his response they can pm me. They are looking into the seller's claims on this. It will be interesting to see if this car makes it to prime time.

Geez, talk about smoking it out of the woodwork...I guess I better break out that Stage-V special "for race only package" I have had in the shed since 1970?

I was just a young whipper snapper working as a car detailer at the local BUICK dealership when a crusty old parts man who was retiring handed me a heavy crate one sunny day and said to me "go son...make the name proud and run that GS like the wind...." Long story short, it ran a 9.0 flat on pump gas and poly glass red line tires, but I never raced it either. Kenny B and I had $70K in that engine by then....and that was the good buddy price:moonu: I pulled the heads off the car and the Stage-V cam and kryptonite headers soon after and been in my old shed ever since....don't ask, I will never sell:beers2:

Oh, as for the low dollar draw at BJ, get my convertible there...it will draw the big bucks:beers2: Especially with that double secret Stage V package I have:Comp:

    Happy New Year!

he'll spend the rest of his life blaming BJ because he didn't get the 250k he thought it was worth, with absolutely ZERO documentation, and ZERO honest provable facts...

on another note, what that auctioneer did last night with the lady bidding on the 69 black Chevelle convert was against all, and I mean ALL legitimate and ethical procedures...

I was annoyed they cut out to the mustangs goofing around outside when the GSX came up. Seems like when they see a Buick coming they plan a commercial or interlude. And for the other side of what Jim said, the buyer paid 110% of $56K, or about $62K after commission. Not bad but not great either considering all the questions surrounding the car, in my view.

I think it was a great deal for the buyer.Remember, this was a very low mile rust free true X. So i don't think it would cost all that much to return to stock. Tom
