Took my rear windshield out to tackle some rust. Still have a bit of work to do, but I need some guidance on the glass reinstall.

I know these things were originally just glue in, no gasket??? What would be the best way to go about it?

Also during rust repair, the studs that hold the trim around rear windshield weren't salvageable. Any other methods of slapping the trim back on it?

Thanks for any help / ideas in advanced!

Have it urethaned back in, most glass guys will be around $65 to set it back in and get the correct clips Au-ve-co has them, screw them on just put silicone or some type of permatex in the hole first

I beleive these are the type of clips that were on the trim. Are you saying basically screw these into the metal in place of the studs?

Yes, the factory done it pretty often on vinyl top cars and if a stud didn't stick they would just run a screw in it to retain the clip

I dont plan on putting a vinyl roof back on it, so I'm curious if I should even put the trim back on that lines the bottom of the vinyl roof (across the deck panel)

I'm curious how odd it will look with / without it? Anyone done something like this?? I thought of going 2 tone but I'm really set on just solid burnished saddle.
