Nice car and great find, love reading the story. The interior in the 2019 pic above looks like a different type of buckets that seam to be black, is there a story there or am I seeing things.

Finally got the car back and confident all of the bugs have been worked out. Full mechanical restoration consisting of original engine rebuild, original transmission rebuild, and original rear end rebuild. Also converted the brake system from hydro-boost back to factory vacuum assist. Aluminum radiator removed and original radiator was pressure tested, painted, and reinstalled. New fan clutch installed, original water pump rebuilt, and original WG wheels put back wrapped with BFG 245/60R15's. New u-joints, sway bar bushings/links, trans mount and crossmember ends, proportioning valve were used along with all new belts and hoses as well.

The original engine was rebuilt some time in the early-mid '90s and only had a few miles before the behemoth 464 blue block was installed in '05. So when the engine shop opened it up it was really clean with all parts in excellent condition inside. Happy to learn that it has not ever been bored and still retains it's original diameter so all that was needed was a hone job. It has aftermarket Sealed Power pistons in it that were in like-new condition so they got new rings and are being reused. Crank main and rod journals were both turned down .010 back during the old rebuild and they checked out okay too so just new bearings were needed. They said the cam and lifters were like new as well so they were reinstalled with new bearings. Sad thing is I can't find a cam card from the '90s rebuild so I have no idea what's in it lol. Has a nice thump but not too aggressive and still have a nice brake pedal feel so I'm assuming just a mild upgrade at best but may never know if I can't find the card. I did find the rebuild receipt from before indicating the .010 main/rod journals but the cam section is blank so I'll keep searching my paperwork pile in hopes that I can find it.

List of known non-original parts used:
- 7040240 carb built to Stage 1 specs and modified with electric choke
- MSD electronic distributor/coil/wires (was on the car so wiring already present)
- modern 130A alternator (was on the car so wiring already present)
- modern aftermarket starter (was on the car)
- modern A/C compressor and ancillary parts (was on the car)
I have all original versions of the above parts in boxes so no harm done and they will stay with the car.

All work done by Tim at Legend Restorations in Sparta Michigan. He was recommended by a friend who knew he had done some Buicks in the past. He is only 1 hour from me so it made sense to keep it local. So after a bunch of driving back and forth (dropping off parts (x2), dropping off car, picking up parts (x2), and picking up car) it is finally home. Mileage at time of work was 50,579. Have put several hundred miles on it in the last week and all seems good so I wanted to share.

All looks/sounds good. Hopefully will see it sometime. Maybe come to the Nationals?
