700R4

Anyone heard of putting a 700R4 in a 66 Gran Sport column shift??

 

I know some one who put a 200R4 in one. With the set back caused by the adaptor, the tunnel required a small modification. I'm sure the 700 would be the same.

What year is the on the 700-4r ? I have a 1984 Trans A/M with orig 700-4r with quick shift problems but I manual shift it for now. One of the members on this site suggested going to a 1990's valve body to solve the problem. Apparently some of the 1980's had quick shifting problems.

They have multi pattern 700s too I'm pretty sure,..like the 200s,..no adapter needed
