That was the 70 ram air Pontiac quadrajet code for the manual transmission. According to my notes, no service replacement was ever produced for it.
So, just like discussed before, if the stamping and carb is original, then that is a very nice find.

Send a picture of the stamping to me at mark@texasextremeracing.com and I will do some comparison and let you know how it compares.

you definitely hit the jackpot, I believe the last digit 3 being an odd number is for the manual trans ram air III & IV cars, those carbs as well as stage 1, w30 olds are going for well over $2500. I imagine the price will just keep going up, up, up.

It is a RA III carb at least, I thought RAiV carbs had modifications to the venturi rings but I may be thinking of 455 HO carbs...either way, it's worth money, real money. Ken at Everyday Performance just did a 72 Buick 800 CFM 240 carb to duplicate a 273 carb for my buddy with a 70 Trans Am, Amazing how many differences there are between the two. Pontiac was definitely doing their own thing with Q-Jets back then.....

Below are pics of the original and the "tribute" carb

1970 Pontiac Ram Air manual transmission carb, used on Ram Air III and IV engines.

They are quite rare, and valuable. Pontiac Ram Air carbs, auto and manual were serviced with part numbers 7028276, 7029270, and 7040270. They will have later build dates, and no Plant Code after the number.

The only models that didn't have the outer booster ring were 1971, part numbers 7041263, 7041267, 7041268, 7041270, and 7041273. There were rumored to be at least one other part number for the HO engines is 1971 w/o the outer ring, but I've never seen one.....Cliff
