wondering how far back carter stage one fuel pumps go found one on my 71 455 and looks pretty original like the rest of the engine
This is the pump to use for higher performance engines, https://www.robbmcperformance.com/products/buick550.html
Just kinda weird just getting into engine now and pretty sure its stock 455 but this is definately stage one pump with riveted wear pad on arm and not new.
Why is it weird? The car is 50 years old. Lots of parts get changed in a 50 year old car. Lots of manufacturers made the Stage1 pump back in the day, today, not so much. Hang on to that pump arm with the riveted pad. That's even less common than the pump.
Use push lok or braided -6AN hose. Outlet and inlet on fuel pump are 1/2 NPT, so conversion fitting, 1/2NPT to -6AN. https://www.jegs.com/i/Russell/799/670150/10002/-1
I have one of these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MItq3_8PzT8wIV8QaICR1J3wEGEAQYASABEgKjffD_BwE
