One problem. It will cost as much to restore as a 70 would and the end value would be no where close when compared.
I am still waiting for him to post true documentation to prove it’s a GSX. I see the Sloan info… however, I see nothing proving it’s a GSX
It is a real ‘72 GSX he just doesn’t show a photo of the other page from Sloan. Hopefully the car gets completed at some point by someone.
There was a 72 GSX 350 car built, that was Green with a Green Vinyl Top and a White interior. It also sold new at Sabau Chevy Buick Inc. out of Virginia, which was the same dealership that sold my old 71 GSX 350 car. I am sure if someone was really interested the current owner would show the other page of Sloan documents or give out the vin # so the interested party could check with Sloan. Duane
I think it was $32k "firm" before. I'd love to have it assuming it's real & even being upside down but done the car isn't worth a lot more than he's asking.
They aren't making any more and the value will only go up.If I just wasn't so old, broke and close to retirement...
I like the rarity of it. Unfortunately, NOM kills it for this rare of a car IMO. I would totally love to resurrect it, though. It would be a cool one to have.
He says sold in USA didn’t he? I thought it was in his description at some point. I thought all 44 were sold in Canada. Either way it would be a killer car if done, great color.
Five sold in the continental US. I considered buying this car long ago when it was on eBay but even back then I already had a lifetime of project cars and only a half of a lifetime left to live. One of you guys should snap it up but only if you realistically think you would finish the car. It has sat in a state of disrepair for long enough and deserves to be finished. It would be a really cool car when completed. http://buickgsx.com/1972 GSX Original Information.pdf
Very cool that it is the same dealer. One of the very few US dealers that knew how to order a ‘71-‘72 GSX.
Sure would be a beauty finished, esp. for someone who likes green cars. It orig had a green vinyl top I wouldn't mind if it wasn't a GSX. If orig. Black top, N25, & buckets/console, gauges/tach (or hood tach) would make it much more appealing as would it be if he hadn't torn it apart & started welding on it.
if you scroll down it is there may be easier on this page https://www.facebook.com/groups/473423147466251/
That dealership, Sabau Buick used to stock GSX’s. While researching my old 71 350 GSX I talked to the original salesman. He said they stocked the GSX’s and used them as a draw to get people into the dealership. He said they would buy the cheapest ones they could, to keep costs down, while still retaining the “GSX” look. For 71-72 these “stock/draw” cars were generally 350 auto cars, with power steering, sport mirrors, G60-15 tires/Rally wheels, and that’s about it. No front spoilers, no AC, and often came with the standard “batwing” steering wheel, like mine. I bought my 71 GSX from the original family that bought it new. Supposedly one of their cousins bought a 72 from the same dealership. It is also a 350 car and I have tried unsuccessfully to see it a few times but they are not interested. Duane
He does state the (low) body # here (& more pics). I have no doubt based on the body #, what Gary said, the selling dealer, & the owner's assertions (obv. he has the other page) that it's real. I don't even know that being NOM hurts it that much but at that price it doesn't help for sure. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/for-sale-1972-buick-gsx-real-deal.370979/
I think it would be a beautiful car when done. I understand that 70 is the "Best" of the GSX to most people, but I enjoy being different and would take a 72 any day of the week over the 70. I however will never own either as I need to get my 71 done some day. But to have a 1 of 44 would be awesome.
