NOT MINE, listed in the Arizona paper of course. 72 Buick GS455, STAGE 1 convrt, 1 of 15 w/ 4spd, blue /white, matching #'s, GM & Sloan docs $99k 480-650-9517 http://www.bigblockbeauties.com/buick.html
wowzer Hope he gets it also, definitely nice though, of course if it is a 72 stage 1 i am going to like it. bill
So Duane, is it worth nearly 100K? Whenever we get done with the 71GS455 4spd convertible out with Skip, what's that going to be worth? All drive train numbers matching and restored frame off (rebodied, I have to admit). Not stage1 but what the heck. One of 18 1971 GS455 4spd converts (excluding the 9 Stage1 4spd converts) made. Maybe out of 27 about a handful left matching numbers, which in 1971 is particularly important due to the lack of records. These prices lately are really blowing my mind.
The guy in AZ bought it straight out of the Kleiner Resto shop with a little diversion to VOLO. I could bought it for 52K at the time and probably should have. I expect they paid about that. It has been for sale basically since then most of the time listed for quite a bit less than this which may reflect a broker's commission is now added in.
don't use hemmings as a guide After reading the latest hemmings mm, I think are cars aren't worth nearly what I think, they have as highs for thes cars in the low thirties and for GSX's thirties to forties, but have a 72GS455 nonstage vert as 90k, are these guys on glue that write these guides or just out of touch. When alot of these cars are low production and very few change hands how can they have such low price guides, I know I would buy half a dozen each at their prices? Bill
I saw that car last weekend at the Pavillion/McDonalds parking lot on Indian Bend road in Scottsdale,AZ.It was parked next to the owners 2 hemi 'cuds's. It was restored at Dave Kleiners and went thru Volo somewhere along the way. It's a BEAUTY.I believe it was sold to a friend of mine in Chicago for the asking price. If I had the dough I woulda bought it on looks alone.
