Selling this original survivor project. Silver Mist, Black vinyl Top, black bench interior. Power Steering, pwr disc brakes, Stage 1, Muncie M21 4 speed transmission, 3.42 posi traction rear. Car sold new at Maxton Motors in Butler Indiana(near Fort Wayne). Car spent part of the time there, and part of it's life in Florida. Currently the matching numbers engine is out and disassembled needing rebuild. I had a valve job done on the heads with new TA Performance Stainless Stage1 valves and valve springs. I have a good crank, pistons, and rods. I have bought a few new parts for the car, installed a new heater core. Bought new master cylinder and rubber brake hoses, although the brakes still work. I can price and sell the car a couple different ways depending on what goes with it. I can sell it as-is with no extra parts and a set of chrome 15" rally wheels, and original engine for $15500 Or I have a zero decked, balanced stock bore 455 with forged pistons and a Scott Brown cam that can be included for an additional $1000. Or I can also sell the car with brand new 14x7 steel wheels, G70-14 Firestone Wide Ovals and poverty caps, minus rally wheels for an additional $2000. So.... Car only with original engine $15500 CASH. Or Original engine and extra short block for $16,500. Or Car, both engines, new wheels, tires, poverty caps, no rallys for $18500CASH, FIRM. I have many new parts I've purchased as well as some parts I sourced for the car that were missing like the Ram Air breather, under hood seal plates, nice valve covers, new alternator, voltage regulator, bulbs, water pump, fuel pump. Put the engine in, and drive and enjoy as a survivor, or restore it, your choice. Sloan Documented, true Stage 1 4 speed. Very rare. May entertain certain trades for other Buicks. All the electrical checks good. All lights work, including reverse lights, blinkers, flashers, dome and foot well lighting, as well as trunk light. When you bought it, I (& @Clarkie) could finally stop thinking about it. Thanks Tom. Not in line but...
This is cool car and a great project. If I got rid of my 1972 Chevelle ss 402 project I would be all over it. out of room at the moment lol. The dog dish are the way to go on that car.
Having seen many of Tom's cars in person, rest assured that the work that has been done was done RIGHT! If I was in the market for another 70-72 Hardtop I would consider this one hard.. Right options for a lightweight screamer, right look, right color scheme, right price, right owner.. this one has got a lot going for it..
Hi Tom, Very interesting project- I'll Ping you for a few details, could be a mean street Terror with a little work! Jerry
Hi Tom I'm interested in the zero deck short block with Forged piston. What Pistons, compression, cam size, work done.let me know price and I will pay for it now and pick up later.thanks Eric.
Not in line (yet) but to clarify, there's currently no engine in the car, correct? Also, did you get the NOS EGR valve from Larry w/the car?
Everything that came with the car, goes with the car. This includes the original engine, and parts I've purchased, like master cylinder, rubber brake hoses, ram air breather parts, underhood seal plates, gaskets, inner fender repair kit, voltage regulator, etc. Plus, I paid to have a valve job done, new stainless valves, valve springs, heads milled flat, etc. Upside down, my prices are less than I have invested in the car, the price is firm. Thanks guys. Extra short block is not for sale unless someone buys the car and doesn't buy it with the car. Price will be higher separately though.....
I still can’t get this car off of my mind. The closed border doesn’t help me at all. The exchange rate is starting to move in the right direction, though.
Agree there Brad. I just don't see any other way exc. to sell my '70 to do it and even then I'm already short on space. Otherwise, it'd already be here w/me.
