Hey guys. I'm assembling the duct assembly a/c distributor with the center vent assembly that connects to the center vent on the dash pad. The manual is saying there is a seal to join the pieces together. It's saying a cement seal? Is there a seal or gasket out there specific for this or do I have to make something? And if so does anyone know what i can use? Its a 1969 Buick Skylark Convertible with A/C.
    Thanks!

My memory says there was a rubber piece that slides over it. No glue was used.

I guess actually it was cemented on. This is 70. I’m guessing yours is similar

    Thank you cooperheadsGS1.
I have a similar illustration. It looks like it would be a rubber seal of some kind but it says it’s cement. There is a lot of play between the 2 pieces so I’m wondering what would be the best sealant to use.
    Thanks!

I’m reading it as they want you to cement the rubber piece in place because it shows the picture and gives you a part number of the seal. I would use clear silicone caulk on the part so it can always be removed.

I remember there was a rubber seal on my AC cars so you should try and find one.

Copperheadgs1 Could you tell me that part # of the seal if you wouldn’t mind? I can’t quite make it out. In my illusion there is no part number.
    Thanks!

I think it says cement the seal to the duct, the seal is not cement it's rubber. ?

Yes, I take it that’s what it means. I read that wrong this whole time. I thought it was a cement seal of some kind. Just not sure where to find that rubber seal.

I haven't found one for my 67. I used a combination of rubber sponge weatherstrip and strip chalk.
I doubt they are to be found unless you find nos

How about taking a car tire tube & using that. You could staple it together & then secure one side with glue & it can fit the shape of the inlet/outlet.
