    Dave,
please tell me your joking, right? If the piston rule reads, "Pistons must be of the original design for the year and horsepower claimed", how many engine's were built at the factory with gas ports, metric rings, low tension oil rings, lightweight wrist pins, relocated wrist pins as part of the original design?
NONE! You answered your own question, there is no "gray area" in that rule as written, same as part of the rules that state "absolutely no lightweight engine internals".:Smarty:
I always thought the rules were well written, and easy to read.
The only way a person could possibly have trouble understanding the rules as written, is if they only achieved a 1st grade reading level.
Bob and Dan have done an excellent job with this event, Thank You both.
We don't need more rules, just enforce the existing rules as written.Thanks.

    Peace out:) :TU:

Sorry, if i offended anybody? I guess everybody running the sub 12 second ET`s are using 100% stock pistons with NO mods, stock weight, etc... Stupid of me to think different, i guess i should of had my 3rd grader read me the rules so i can better understand them. Thanks Tom Miller.

As I have said before why cheat anyway. You don't get a trophy and you don't get any prize money. I can not believe how we can not get along in the same sand box. When I started with my car it was high 15's, now I am in the low to mid 13's so does that mean I am cheating. No, I just learned how to drive it and tune it better just like everyone else. Dan and Bob should not have to go through this for they have done a good job. Its like everything else, when somebody out does the other there is always something fishy going on huh, or just alot of jealousy.

This is where I opt out.

There's more FAST class guys in this conversation than P/S.
You guy's had your chance- You got busted cheating, was asked to leave. And started the F.A.S.T class cars. Not Because you wanted to at first-But because if you wanted to keep running you had too!

I'm Glad you did-It gives everyone another race. It's cool to watch.

NO THE START of this topic wasn't to pander to YOUR FAVORITE Brand.
Joel it wasn't to blow one guy- or to ripp on one firebird!

It was to dicuss our FRUSTRATION in the direction this was all going.
The fact that it has become the bastard homogulation of FAST and Pure stock. I didn't think the rules were too gray. If you have a conscience.
I HAVE THE VIDEO from the hospitality suit , The first year of certifying .. Bob and Dan saying NHRA Blueprint specs are only being used as a reference for numbers and not adopting the rules of NHRA . Remember them talking about Bob K's car and how he had been racing it forever and it was ragged edge,But legal. A scienced out car, A superstar in pure stock. How everyone that participated in the certifying process should be proud and there cars to be held at a higher standard. I'll have my daughter help me post a link to YOUtubeFor those who care.
I did this for fun,Good time and good friends. I Guess I took what they said at face value. My bad -

Tim, Terry built and is currently running a pure stock car, right now i`m in the process of trying to get togeather a hemi car for next year, Tom Cannon normally runs a pure stocker every year, Ed Cook plans on running a pure stock hemi car next year, Steve Hodges is getting a hemi car togeather for next year, and there`s more coming... The FAST guy`s are on this post because most of us are putting togeather new rides for next year and some of us are looking forward to joining the faster guy`s running in the class. (11.60`s to the 11.30`s) This is not an attempt to start sh!t with the PSMCDR at all, trust me i can`t be more sincere when i say that.

I really wasn`t looking to mix things up, I was just trying to suggest maybe close up some loopholes. It`s absolutely clear to me that there`s nothing wrong with the rules. Really, I`m 100% sure i`m ready to move foward and just come out to have fun.:)

    Group hug!!:) :) :) :TU:

First off, when I asked Dan about being at the certification he said it would be a good thing...."kinda like an audit of certification". His words not mine. Any question as to legality went to Dan and Bob.

Second, I told Dan I had access to a bore scope, he asked if I could bring it.

Third, the only time I was over Jim's fender (not laying) was to help him re attach his exhaust.

Fourth, I wasn't "ripping into everything". I did open the door and look inside as well as under the car and in the trunk when it was open. Bob generally does that part. I reported to him and Dan. Didn't slam anything or lay on anything, treated it just like my '58.

Fifth, Absolute truth be told I did remove one of Jims battery caps. It broke between the thread and cap. Funny thing is, no one else saw it at all, so it would have been nothing to set it in place and walk away. No, not the right thing to do. Went and got Jim showing the plug telling him what happened apologized and offered to pay or find another.

Sixth, I've purposly worked to keep any talk of Jims car or the certification off the internet. I will say the NHRA cylinder head rule I pointed out was for stock class. It said at the time the bowl angle can be no more than a 70 degree cut, no more than .250" deep as measured from the interface of the valve face to the seat. I guess seeing as how lots of NHRA rules like the .015" crank tolerance are used it makes sense. What was done from there was not my choice.

If having a single witness is bad, maybe the Bob K idea of a group is good. That's all up to Dan and Bob though.

All I've been saying in this thread is don't add a bunch of rules or a bunch of teardowns. Use what's there, if it needs clarifying fine.

How that's bitching or calling anyone out I don't know.

    Now there's a good idea!

I vote for the color of Mahoney's Firebird.

That is the same car Scott drove at Stanton, right?

    Re: PUBLIC APOLOGY

I would like to apologize to Jim Spetzman for any "bad mouthing" of him or his car. Jim has certified more than anyone, and he should be complimented for it,not condemned.

Also I owe an apology to Dave Dudek for the "1st grader" comment above. I didn't mean for it to be a personal insult, it just came out wrong(finger's got going faster than my 1st grade brain":Dou: How can I possibly think that someone who takes a car with the aerodynamics of a brick, and makes it go 10's at 130+mph is a dumbass? quite the opposite. Sorry Dave.

Any idea where the rules are on the roll cages for the Pure Stock cars? Dave I see you have 11.20 or bust in your post signature.

The 11.30's has been hit by more than one Pure Stocker already and from what I hear there will be more next year, Once we have a car togeather a more realistic goal for me in the 09/10 seasons might be in the 11.50 range, but I'll keep working and working until I'm happy with the ET. :) I have several parts but still need a car to house the Hemi. (I'm not looking for anything that needs to be painted) So the search is on..

11.299 has to be the next goal for anybody looking to run near the top.

Sounds like a goal for FAST small blocks!!!! Heck, isn't that close to the slow end of your quick 8! I have to agree with Lerum, if it requires a roll cage to be legal for the track, it sould not be in Pure Stock!:idea2:

A Hemi 68 S/S Dart clone is not PSMCDR legal.

Also, that Mexican built GTS is a not in the best of shape. The photos do it too much justice.
