Once the fuel bowl is full, does it start to your satisfaction? Yes very well. super satisfied....
After its sat a long time, have you worked the throttle to see if fuel sprays? Very weak spray.... after prime Great..
    Cornless gas

    Timing on the money,,

I think the Carb & Cam are a fine fit... At this point of time.. Need better tires & weather to tell the truth. The tires I got are better HOT summer tires... No traction this time of year.

They have ethanol-free fuel at Nelson's?
I need to start using that in my small engine stuff. That last power outage the generator wouldn't start......

Well I guess you didn't know .. Now you do...
Yes pump 11 is 87,, pump 12 is 92,,, You dont need a card,, Just go inside and talk to Wayne, Chuck,, or Cindy what you need.. they will turn on the pump. then pump it. tell them how much you got,, then pay..... Kind like the good ol'days of yesteryear..

You also get Corn-Less at the smoke shop at island crossing ,,,, But I get about 4miles less to a gallon in my 92 Caprice....than Nelson's. plus I got a card..

Nice! I like downtown Arlington, very old school.
I usually go into Marysville, my buddies shops are there but I'll make a point of going to get my fuel from Nelsons!

FWIW the 87 corn-less with the card price (((Card saves about a dime))) I paid 2.85 gallon on 2-26-21. What is 3.00plus here in granite

You can try putting a vacuum cap over the vent for a couple days. Capping it might prevent the evaporation. Take the cap off and see if it starts right up. Not sure it'll work but it's a good experiment

Sweet.... Today was a big improvement... This time I let it sit for about 44 hrs. Gave her 3 pumps didn't hit right off, rolled motor over about 3-4 seconds gave her 2 or 3 pumps. Yes fired right up.. High idle came in clean.. Before the high idle came but not as clean...

Tomorrow according the the weather channel should be a dry day. Give it a go again. See just how she fires up.... Then take her for a run and she gets her First oil change...

Last fall I installed one of those WiX check-valve fuel filters designed for later year Quads - popped right in. (The Cat is no performance car, so I was not worried about top-end fuel starvation ;-). I definitely noticed quicker starts if it sits for a few days. It used to be bone dry...no more. Of note, but I have no idea exactly why, after I had the tank Red-Koted, swapped in the new NiCopp fuel lines and swapped the fuel filter, I don't get anywhere near the fuel smells in the garage when it sits. And to be clear the rubber fuel hoses were new a year or two prior so I reused those and the gas cap. None of the steel lines or the tank leaked prior either... Not sure what piece made the difference in the smell but better lucky than good...

Another issue that can add to this is the needle and seat - as the fuel naturally evaporates, the float drops and raises the needle allowing fuel to leave the float bowl back to the main fuel line. To help stop some of this, simply remove the small clip that connects the needle to the float. The needle does not need to be lifted by the float when fuel is required in the float bowl. The 5-6 psi the pump creates will push open the needle when fuel is required. I got this tip from Cliff Ruggles years ago. I have never had an issue with carb performance eliminating this clip, as well I only run ethanol free fuel. We’re fortunate here in Vancouver BC - we have 94 octane available.

My 68 GS400 used to do this. I started putting in 5 gallons of 100 octane LL with 10 gallons of 93 and the problem went away. People told me this couldn't work. So the next time I filled up with straight 93 (10 percent ethanol) and the problem came back. Put in 5 gallons of 100 LL and the problem went away.

Kind of a update...... Car has been sitting the 4th 0r the 5th . just a strait pull it in and parked it.. just walked away........ Yesterday I go to change out the Carburator. I start with cracking the fuel line on the lift pump.... Not one drop of fuel dripped out (line is very lose) .... Next with a Clean stainless drip pan under lift pump I removed the carb, No gas in SS drip pan.... Next just for the heck of it I take a vacuum hose mate it to the carb-side of the fuel line blow into line strait air comes out the fuel line....

I can see full evaporating of gas in the carb.... In the fuel line????? Thats weird to me.......

Im also thinking New lift pump coming sooner than later.
