I have a 65 Skylark with a 300 that is soon to have a SB-110A cam,hi-rev lifters, chromoly pushrods,750cfm performer carb and headers.I have the opportunity to buy a th-350 with a 2300rpm stall, will this be a good combination?

What is a SB-110A cam?? You want the converter to stall about 400-500 RPM above the beginning of the power range of the cam. So give us a little info on the cam if you have it, because thats really what anyone needs to make a recommendation.

OK, saw your other thread, Poston cam SB 110A, power range 1400-6000. I would say1900-2000 stall would be all you need. Maybe something like the TCI Saturday Night Special. It gives approximately 2000 stall. It says it works great with the switch pitch, do you have that trans? Don't make the mistake of putting a higher stall converter in, you won't like it on the street. BTW, no one can tell you where that 2300 converter will stall in your vehicle. The best manufacturers can do is specify a stall speed range without knowing the particulars of your buildup.

The stall that I listed(2300) is the max.

There's still no real way to know. What was the converter installed behind before???

  It might be perfect then. A 472 Cadillac would stall a converter higher, because of the torque and vehicle weight.

Thats good, I figured it would work but was checking. My brothers car was completely stock, so I know what it's like to drive it on the street when a converter is to high so thats why I asked the question. Thanks, for the info! Thanks,
    Philip
