    I remember when I was working for Transit, there was a case where leaking R22 from the bus A/C system found it's way into the intake of that bus, and poisoned several mechanics in the Depot indoor yard.

    I use spray carb. cleaner & 0000 steel wool.

    I just tried mineral spirits and steel wool and it seems to be working ,I'll post pics once I have the paint off.

    I have a halon fire extinguisher in have in my old car. had it for years. A company that sells & installs extinguisher system gave it too me. I know that it is dangerous when applied to a fire so I have to be sure the wind is at my back.

    thanks for the tips !!. mineral spirits and elbow grease was the answer , Buickrat you said that I should polish them up after the paint removal any suggestions on what to use?
