If not please move it. Thanks
I purchased a 1972 skylark custom conv that has been cloned to gs and very well done
I bought in cinn Ohio. Was listed on Craigslist. Owner was not a Buick guy or even a car guy. He bought it already finished 5 years ago. If anyone knows this car or it’s history please chime in.
    History I know.
Car was originally yellow ,white top ,bench seat, white interior
Car is now red, black interior, black top ,bucket and console gauges and tac
72 455-t/a valve covers, msd dist ,shorty headers, a/c p/s ,power drum brakes, built 350 turbo
3.23 posi 8.5 ten bolt 71 n-25 rear bumper. Paint and body almost show quality. Interior very nice
Under hood clean. Someone put a lot of work in this car I estimate it was restored 10-12 years ago by the date on the tires. Just curious

Probably "The Bench" would be better since it isn't a lead per se. Nice looking car! If it's a 3.23, then I believe the rear would be an 8.2 out of an earlier car. I didn't think 3.23 was an available ratio for the '71-up corporate 8.5 but @BrianTrick would know for sure better than me.

    gscalifornia Small blocks rule!!

I had a 3.23 gear in the '72 8.5 10 bolt in my GS California, I think it was a Richmond gear set.

Nice Buick. Nothing like a red convertible with buckets and a big block. Enjoy it.

Make a pass down the quarter mile. The trap speed should tell you if the motor is healthy and how much HP it has. Bone stock low compression 455 should go 85-90 MPH. Mild performance build perhaps 95-100. Healthy rebuild with 1970 compression and Stage 1 valve train perhaps 100-105. These are only ballparks so, no flames, please. LOL.

I would really like to know some history about the car. Someone put a lot of time and $$$$ into it.

I've attended a lot of car shows in the area, and don`'t recall seeing this car until it popped up on CL. Glad to hear you're pleased with your purchase.
