Anyone read and decipher this?

    tubecatgs Finally a 4 speed......

    Car I'm looking at close by. Sent me this pic. He thought it was a posi rearend. I can't read the numbers on the tag but some of you are better than I enhancing photos.. anyone have any ideas what this rear is?

    use limited slip diff lube only

    It’s a posi tag,but won’t say what is inside. You either need to pull the cover,or see if the code is still readable on the axle tube.

    Both tires will spin the same way with a posi on non posi one wheel will go one way and the other tire the other way.

    If you jack it up and if both wheels turn the same way you can then mark the yolk, have someone spin the wheel one revolution slowly and count how many times the yolk turns. You'll then know the Ratio. Codes are on the bottom driver side tube. You'll then need to check it against that years codes to see the ratio. Steve Dove book has most years, otherwise use the chassis manual for the year.
