I am watching it too Dave. I hated to see you get out of the bidding after it hit a million. I thought you had it.
I'm not as surprised by the price of the Allen LS6, as I am about the '69 Z that went for $205k... ------------------------ Hillbilly Racing Team "Tired of AutoZone's limited selection? Try the Pottery Barn!"
the real question ... the real question is ... was it driven on stage or towed with the 4.1 million dollar bus ??? uzzled:
Drive it I doubt it but I met a gentelman that bought a 71 Hemi Cuda convert for 2mil . 7000 miles from france ( export car) He then had it restored for 200K and now drives it to his office on occaison along with a cross desert romp for a car show that Hot Rod mag covered . Imet him because we have a Hemi guy here in St Louis that has a oil company and sells race fuels . The guy was in from Az. to try to talk him out of his Cuda . 71 Hemi found in a field all original dana 410 12000 miles ...spun brg .In 1980 I met Scott shortly after , he paid 10K ou: for it . Scott was not selling but I think the money might have been to good . I had to leave and was not a part of negotiation so I will have to ask about it when I go to his place to get some race gas .
Hmmm...sounds like our buddy Dave C! Here's a peek into his collection: clicky Hey, I'm a Show-Me boy myself, and help run an annual event across the river from you in Collinsville...out of curiosity, what Hemis does your buddy own? I might have crossed paths with him...
Cuda To call him a friend is pushing it . I met him at his place of business when a friend that has a race car was buying fuel . I only know about the Cuda cause that was the topic of discussion at the time . Seiveking Oil ( forgive me if thats spelled wrong ) sells or at least sold good race gas . Seems like a nice guy but I am not in the same league when it comes to cars . But I understand he has several other Hemi cars . I have never seen any of them in person. Maybe some day . JK
missouri Rob, where are you in MO?? Not in West Alton in St. Charles county are you? John & Terry, where in St. Louis are you located??
Hey Rob, I noticed a few of the Chev's had the brake combination block mounted right under the master cylinder. Olds never did that (mounted on the frame), but I want to set up my red W30 that way (header clearance). Is that bracket that supports the valve from the master cylinder a production part? Any idea where I can buy one? I've never seen one before and really don't want to fab up one myself. It would look like I did it and in a very visible area.
Ahh, Kennett...home town of Sheryl Crow! And Senath...our new high school girls basketball coach (who grew uand graduated from here) was the high school boys basketball coach at Senath-Hornersville for several years. We're only a couple hours from Paragould, AR, which is just across the line...some *excellent* high school basketball in that part of the state... Dave: I believe that bracket is made onto the proportioning valve...I'll take a look when I'm @ the shop.
