It's time to replace my boat trailer tires due to age, not wear. They are 205/75R-14.

What is the best brand these days?

I've had great luck with hercules tires. Not the most expensive, but last well for the money, I have them on 10 trailers with no issue or cimplaints

more important than tire band is wheel bearings, especially on a boat trailer. Most boat trailers go in the water, sit for 6 months, go in the water and sit again for 6 months. worst thing in the world for them. I used to take the long way home from the water each time.

In 2018, a Goodyear assurance was the only American made trailer tire on the market. Not sure if that’s still the case. I’ve slowly replaced by tires on both trailers with them. I wouldn’t put a Carlisle tire on a lawn mower

I don't know what the best is anymore. Whatever you decide, IMO make sure you get them balanced, keep them out of the sun, and make sure you check/adjust the pressures before any trip. Say what you will, but this has worked perfectly on some US-made 15" Goodyear Marathons that I bought new in 2004 for my boat trailer. I tow my boat a few hundred miles per year, and the trailer is in a climate-controlled pole barn 99% of the time. With the boat on the boat lift, I can tend to any trailer maintenance easily.

I run towmax on my car trailers, and I prefer a 225 instead of 205.
