That would be awesome to hangout with you Sean! beers and chainsaws all day lol. Yes it's a perfect size for us. A nice 4 bdrm with double car garage and a detached double car shop in the back for the Buick and Coronet:).

Well after waiting for a month my adjustable guide plates finally arrived. Time to measure for pushrods. 20220415_212924.jpg

I've read a bunch on here about measuring for pushrods and proper rocker geometry etc and I hope I've been doing this right. I set an adjustable TA pushrod to just over 9 5/8" which should be about 9.650 that the Eddy heads call for. I know I know you gotta check to make sure, can't just assume blah blah that's why I'm doing this lol. With that said it seems to be fine and the geometry looks to be ok. The roller rockers tip starts just before center of the valve stem tip and travels just past center of the valve stem tip, which from my understanding is the "optimal spot" for it to be. Please let me know if I'm on the right track here. 20220416_202909.jpg

This video is a little different way, but I find it very easy and it make total since to me, plus it shouldn't require the use of solid pushrod and or checking springs.

Works better with rollers rockers than stamped steel, because you can see that line.

Awesome thanks Ben that makes complete sense to me too! I'm going to try it that way and see what I come up with.

I dont know if on chevy style stud mounted rockers if there would be a difference between roller and stamped rockers of the same ratio for different rod lengths

My pushrods arrived today, now it's time to start the tedious job of setting up the Eddy head adjustable guide plates pushrod roller rockers fiasco. I'm feeling confident on this as I've read up on this for weeks now. 20220503_164948.jpg

Well I finally had some time today to spend on the engine annnd the car. I brought the Riv home to prep it for it's new heart. Speaking of that I made some great progress today. I got all the adjustable guide plates notched out, worked on adjusting them one by one installing all the lifters, pushrods and roller rockers. I then got the intake gaskets on, China wall beaded with rtv then dropped the intake on (no pic of that will post one tomorrow) and torqued it down. I have it #1 TDC, backed it off 8 degrees until the balancer lined up with 0 and the dizzy dropped right in pointing to wire #1, that was sweet:cool:. Not much left to do before dyno time, just need to fill it with oil, install spark plug wires, change jets and rods in the Qjet and put on the flex plate:). 20220523_142657.jpg 20220523_192522.jpg 20220523_192540.jpg

Thanks Sean, getting there, it's just really hard to find the time to work on this.
