Hey thats not too shabby for a low compression small valve motor. I think you've got an opportunity to start experimenting with advancing the cam to build DCR and I'd bet with another 4 degrees that'll be a mid 13 car all day long. A lot has been written on this here on the forum, and I'm sure Larry can make some recommendations. Just for reference, my small valve, low compression 455 with headers, a 230/240 115 cam installed 10 degrees advanced, Q Jet, degreed distributor with 32 total ran 13.0's at 104 every trip out (with generally a 1.85 +/- 60 ft) and hit a best of 12.75@ 105.5 . There's a lot of power in cam timing.

I can confirm this, I was there in the next lane.
Find the best timing your engine likes, theres a lot of potential there

Thanks everyone for the comments. For now, im going to try to max out what I have. Only got 3 runs in, so have tire pressure, launch style, timing and wot secondary carb testing to still work on. Cant wait for a 482 and stage 2 heads someday.

A big help is if you pull the heads at all. Pocket porting them under the valves. I too have a low compression small valve 73 engine. The step down under the valves is huge and a major restriction.
There’s a lot of power in air flow their.
I also drilled and tapped and capped all the a i r ports and heater crossover.

Last night ran a 13.823 at 96.5 mph, still a 2.003 60 foot time. I think I can get into the 13.70’s with the current set up. The progression ignition distributor has helped as well.
This winter ……. The 482 goes in. Hope the hell roller cams become available!

Good luck, I’d use a flat tappet if you want to drive it this year.

Thats where maybe my customers need to go. All are the same combo and have dyno'd at between 620 to 630 streetable hp. With a similarly streetable flat tappet hyd. cam we'll lose about 30 some hp. Does it matter on the street? either way you'll put the car sideways and never really notice 30hp. At the track you'll lose some et, for once a year? How important is that to keep waiting till when?

Thats a decent time for the 350!
My last run a couple years ago with my 350 was a 13.40 @102.00

The time slip seems to indicate that a looser converter might be needed to get a better 60 ft. Also the 1/8 to 1/4 speed of 77 to 95 should be closer to 20 MPH rather than 18 MPH. Could the engine be running out of gas at the top? Just some thoughts. :)

I gained almost 2mph by going to AU (0.053 tip) secondary rods and 35 degrees of timing all in by 3300 rpm. Was running a leaner secondary rod prior (0.057 tip)The new fuel surge tank with bosch electric pump is pushing lots of fuel at 6 psi. The new MTs are hooking well and i now have a bog at about 20 foot mark. Ive tightened up the spring on the secondary air valve and this helped some, but still there. Ill reach out to Cliff Ruggles and see if I should add more tension, or put a slower choke pull off on. With street tires bogs like this don’t happen because tires are being shredded due to lack of traction....prepped track and MTs, different ball game. The car has done a 1.92 60 foot. If I can repeat that, i think 13.70s possible.
So possible adjustments for next track day:
    - try 36 degrees total timing (i run 94 non ethanol) all in by 3300 (the converter flashes to 3200-3300)
    - try a richer rod secondary rod DA 0.044 tips versus AU 0.053
    - slower choke pull off/secondary air valve tension
Carb has 73 jets with Cliffs tapered 44 primary rods.
