I would like to Thank Jim and Ron once again for the "Top Notch" work and attention to detail on my current "Bluzilla" short block machine work! The videos make it clear for anyone to understand the importance for (at the very least) checking and or correcting the cam tunnel and lifter bore alignment. I knew before sending that block that the lifter bore alignment was and issue to some extent, so that did not surprise me, ..... though seeing how far out of alignment the tunnel was did. That in itself makes me wonder how many blocks are out there in the same or even worse configuration than mine was from the factory. I feel those of us that spend time studying and good money on custom camshaft profiles, distributor blueprinting/phasing, as well as making sure we have spot on valve train geometry, in regards to their respective effect on engine power output, should consider addressing this issue. As other than the mentioned alignment benefits, there has to be a substantial measurable power output gain from correct and concentric valve timing with these situations.
Now I get to begin the block assembly and research the "Ford" .874/.875 Solid Flat Tappet lifters for my application, .... as I'm comparing the cup height and oil band locations to our "Buick" lifters.
In closing, ..... I won't hesitate for a minute to send my future "Ken Betts Iron Block" to Jim and Ron when the time comes.

    Thanks Again!
    Larry

Yes Larry, I sent Mike a fresh estimate for the 482, we had a discussion via PM.. I should have responded to this thread.. I sent about 4-5 470/482 estimates out that day, 'tis the season for that..

Appreciate you not letting a potential customer get ignored.. Thanks Larry.

Jim,how much would it cost to add crank machining/indexing? How much extra for you putting crank, rods, and pistons in?
