Ahhh right.....good thinking...I'll definately use my grinder for the first part then try to get them down smooth with my dremmel tools..might even get them off with the little cutting disks...safety goggles on of course..

Most all of my sanding is done by hand with a small block...alot more work but I always feel better when I get my hands dirty. Also, I have a better feel for it than with a power sander.

The surface rust, I'll see what it really looks like when I get the paint stripped off.

another rule of thumb with glazing putties and bondo's is glazing putties will only fill about 1/16-1/8" imperfections...body filler should only be used up to a 1/4" thick...anything greater than that should be pulled or replaced....if its a hole...use a waterproof product such a duraglass ultraglass..kitty hair etc....All-metal...Aluminum based filles can also be screwed into and even tapped to take bolts.....it is one of my favorite products

WOW ...fast forward to 2012 and Rage Extreme is now $53 a gallon or more like .8 of a gallon. Switched shop over to USC Gold pro $27. Sands and finishes just like the expensive stuff.

I like Evercoat Z-grip for heavy filling and 3M (formerly Marson) platinum for finishing. I have all but totally quit using poly putty since I stared using platinum
