Hi all! I totally forgot I ordered this! The car is sold and I now am going to sell this 1971 stage 1 carb rebuild by qudrajet power. Looks amazing! Never been used or installed since the rebuild. Everything plated. Looks amazing. Paid $1200 would like as close to that as possible. Would like $1100. All receipts and info included. Build date and codes clearly visible on the side of the carb.
price reduced to $1000. this is a brand new rebuild carb. is level 1 spec. it is very very nice. john
my mistake. 800 cfm. but this is the factory original size. it is amazing looking. the pictures don't do it justice. i cn also send all the paperwork with it. and it is a factory stage 1 carb. john
Would you like to trade for any Buick related parts? Money is tight for me right now Welcome to PM me. Thanks, Fritz
i really need the cash. we are doing a K5 blazer project and we are finding more rust than expected.. sorry man john
it is still for sale. someone is asking a few questions. i am totally shocked it has not sold. it is an early build date Stage 1 carb. i may keep it and use it on my Riviera ( 1973 fully restored). but i would like to move it to a proper home. john
is the font wrong or does the pad area looked machined to you? or is it just the wrong air horn part of the carb with POE holes above air plate that makes you insinuate re-stamp? who knows where this carb came from and how many rebuilds it has seen. possible that part of carb has been changed out.
This carb POE above flaps incorrect for stage1.Carb pic on bottom is from the other one forsale in this section correct for stage1 carbs were you can't see hole below secoundary flaps.
I purchased this from a reputable carb shop and i asked about these. He said that this is a stage 1 carb and thst the holes are not always in that spot. I think he said manuals have them there and autos don’t. Again I brought this up with him. Also the area does not looked machined and there are no errors in the stampings which would signify a restamp. john
John, the carburetor stampings lock factory but your reputable carb shop Was wrong. Both 4-speed cars and automatic stage 1 had the POE holes below the secondary flaps it’s a big part that makes the stage 1 Carburetor.
That is what I was told. Again the dates are not tampered with. There is no signs of restampikg or machining. My 1971 Stage 1 car had a lot of unusual stuff on it but the build sheet I found backed up all the stuff in the car. These are parts made more than 50 years ago. No one cared about these cars as we do today. The manufacture of these cars and the parts were done for speed and convenience on the manufacturing line. They truly did not care what they threw on them sometimes or how the parts were constructed. Errors do happen. without a clear sign of restamping I am not sure how you can say a properly coded carb is not a stage 1 carb. I have a distributor that is clearly tampered with (the code that is) and have seen other carbs that are clearly re stamped. This in my option is not one. again I am a very long time member and have no desire to sell a fake. I am upset our hobby has come to the point were things are faked and adjusted to be things that they are not. This is one of the reasons I am selling my stuff and focusing on other types of cars (newer sports cars). It upsets me you can’t trust many people. again it is up for sale. I cost me $1200 and it is beautiful. If I don’t get much interest I am going to use it on my Riviera (post engine rebuild the throttle plate seems bent and has the car on a high idle. Adjustment screw won’t affect the idle. ). The date code is august 3 1970 and would be a perfect build for someone with an early stage 1 as I had. Let me know if anyone is interested. thanks guys for the discussion! john
