Nice regal! My dad had an 83 limited coupe with the V8 in it

A V8 in your pops 83! Had to be a Olds 307 i'm guessing. Mine has the measly 3.8 V6:eek:

I see you have the to what i'm guessing is the F41 suspension on your Lesabre as i;m seeing a rear sway bar.
I think I see dual exhaust also.. Does it have a posi rear end?

That V6 is not to bad. V8s are very rare on the G body regals I think. No mention of it in the brochures, not on the usual 'car spec' websites and everytime I see one for sale it is a V6. Buick was really promoting those 3.8s back then.

Yeah. It has the heavy duty rear suspension factory fitted. Dual exhaust also (although that is quite a mystery because those weren't offered in 1975 but they were fitted before the original owner took delivery of it new).

I don't know if it has a posi rear end. I don't have the buildsheet or windowsticker for it unfortunately. How can I tell if it has a posi?

Later Regals were available with the Olds 307 including the ‘87 Regal with T package (looks like a Turbo car but has a flat hood).

Why yes it is. Just got the registration and plates Monday and Tuesday.

Yup I know about this. In america they start building 'next years model' already in the year before. My parents had a 1975 Chevelle Malibu Classic WITH the stacked headlamps of 1976. It was a 76 model build and delivered in 1975 so here in the Netherlands on the Dutch registration it said it was a 1975 Chevelle Malibu classic.

My LeSabre is built in 1975 though. It says first registration 28 February 1975 to be precise. (Although the Fisher body tag says 05C (which would indicat week 3 of May....) Also with these it is pretty easy to tell them apart. 1976 had square headlamps, mine has rounded, and 1974 had the wider taillight lenses and 'floating headlights' above the grille. So mine is a model '75 built in '75.

So that's a lie than. Explaines the 05C on my fisher tag. Build in May 1975 then. I don't think they build them as early as may 74 haha.

Yeah I saw that. Now combined with a date that lies before of the date the car was produced... Think I am going to give them a call and have them straighten things out.

It is free. As long as you can provide them with proof. I have the type on multiple points on the car. And the fisher plate which says 3rd week of may so proving 28 Feb is impossible.

Thanks for uplifting words;) but the V6 is a slug at least mine, They made millions of them and some do have a little more pep.. Iv'e driven a couple G bodys that belonged to friends of mine and noticed a little difference.

Nailhead 67 gave you the proper way to check for a posi. Curious to know:D

    Wow good info as always.
Looking at the pic's I think I see hints of blue on the valve covers but seeing little signs of red in the intake manifold area.
Bittersweet, what color is the motor? I'm wondering if it missed the cut off point to where they were painted blue in 75 and 76.

Edit: Looking back and enlarging the pic it looks like the intake has a layer of rust.

If you look at the pumpkin, there should be a metal tag under one of the bolts that indicates it's a posi. Though that tag can go missing.

Better still is to jack the car up by the pumpkin and with it in neutral, spin one of the wheels by hand. If both wheels turn the same way, you got posi. If they don't then no.

Of course there is always the fun way, do a burn out and see if you leave one or two tire marks.

Not under the rear seat... Do I need to remove the gas tank or is there a trick to get to it? Any other spots it can be on a 1975 Buick?
