Well I've been kinda hunting down my dash plaque light issue. As I've found out the lights are 110v. The power inverter is a little black box. I found a replacement on eBay and bought it. I used female and male hook ups for a possible next time. Here are some pictures

It’s crazy, but both that dash and almost all of GM’s ‘Opera Lamps’ are 110v and use an inverter. Dome years Cadillac used a remote inverter, other years they were part of the light. I learned that looking through a service manual.

Some dash plaques had standard 194 bulbs too.

It hilarious, I grabbed one of those inverters thinking that was my issue. I didn't really look close, figured it was an 87, it has the luminescent thing. Nope. Definitely has the bulbs... hmm.
