I had a blast racing with and against everyone. It really is a fun class, and I think a pretty decent turnout. Well done and thanks to those that ran the class. Thanks to all that put up the prize money. I hope to run it again next year!
To Patrick, Stark, and Dave, Wow! I had a blast!!! First I’d like to say, these guys are the friendliest, most helpful people! If you really don’t know what you’re doing, (me), they’ll fill you in with all the information you need with a smile. I do test and tune at home, but “really “ racing is kind of a science. There are so many variables. The people in this group are some really good teachers. If you haven’t raced your car, and it fits the rules for this class, you’re going to want to race, and hang out with these guys!
We finally made it back home. I had the absolute best time ever at the nationals racing in this class with these guys! Even if I didn’t win it still would have been the best ish I didn’t get to talk to everybody but hope to pit next to you all next year. Thanks to all that helped put it together and this belt is FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! Rob Holmes

It’s nice to see the names with the cars. Really helps me remember faces I met. I can remember cars better but this will stick with me. I got really lucky this year. Next year I will have some less goofy tires
Hey there Sloop, As you may have seen above the 68 GS is mine and is the car that I rescued from the AZ desert in 2011. Finally finished the restoration to make its debut at the 2021 GS Nationals. GS 400 painted white hardtop 4 speed restored to its as purchased condition and colors.
Does an alum radiator need to be painted? Just checking for next year before I replace my radiator soon. Don't want to have to pull it to do it later.
I painted mine because it was unattractively obvious; the ‘68 grill really shows the radiator. I’d say on yours it’s a judgement call. I don’t think anyone will protest your visible fins. Patrick
2022 GS Nats May 11-14!! With any luck at all we’ll gather at the old circle track and do it all again! Same rules unless we need to change something. (Post or PM me, Starc or Jim Rodgers with questions and ideas). Hopefully we’ll have the generous sponsorships from all the great folks who pitched in this year! Man I’m looking forward to it. Let the countdown begin! Patrick
Radiator will be fully painted. That much aluminum would kind of look out of place on my car. I know the front mount IC on my GN kind of screams "Look at me!" with everything else black. Also, good news on the 2022 Nats dates. Hope to make it back and run again.
Had this car setting for close to a yr and wasnt sure what I'd do with it.. Now thinking it would be a great car for BSA. Only possible issue is its Olds powered from the factory.
I will be there unless something catastrophic happens. And the smile will STILL be on my face from this year
Glad you’re interested! It’s a hoot! Last year’s rules are quoted in the first post of this thread. Basically, if your car runs a red engine with iron exhaust manifolds, stock air cleaner, valve covers and a Qjet you’re good to go. Patrick
Not the same size, but the fronts shouldn’t be skinnies. Wheels need to look like factory and front tires need to be street tires. Patrick
