I'm probably showing my novice side here so please bear with me. The front bumper for my 1967 GS is nearly finished being rechromed... however, the original hardware had to be cut and I was not the one who removed the bumper from the car. Can anyone tell me exactly what bumper hardware I will need to mount/align the front bumper to the chassis? I found a "bumper bolt kit" at The Parts Place, but after shipping it was $50! I just cant stomach spending $50 on a box of bolts. Any help is appreciated, -Jared
I have a couple kits that simply provide the CORRECT Mounting Bolts OR the 7/16" Stainless Bumper Bolts if those are all that is needed. My other Bumper Bolt kits provided everything that is needed when installing new bumpers and are a bit more expensive. Here's the 2) Basic Kits . . . . . Correct Stainless 7/16" Bumper Bolts along with the GM Washers and Nuts . . . . $25 NOTE: This kit is set up for the 70-72 Bumpers. I can add or delete quantity if needed. . . . GM Mounting Bolts with correct Conical Toothed Washers and Phosphate Nuts . . . . $35 I "get" that these kits aren't for everyone due to cost but if you like the correct stuff for your restoration then give me a shout. . . . . 1970 Bumper Bolt Kit for reference . . . .
Get Todd's kit,...its more complete,...more correct,..and will simply make the install easier PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE HARDWARE STORE AND GET A BAG FULL OF BOLTS,...IF THATS YOU'RE PLAN RETHINK IT
Oh man Todd! That kit looks great but I ordered bolts from oldbuickparts.com before your reply! I'm sorry brother. However, if that doesn't work out, I'll reach out to you and order your kit. But none of this will matter if I can't get the chrome shop to finish the F-ing bumper and get it back to me!!! Thanks for all of the info guys, -Jared
